Yesterday is the first time i'm celebrated Hari Raya Haji without my family

Today is 29 Nov 2009

Today is 11 Dzulhijjah 1430 H

Today is the second day of Hari Raya Haji

Today got kenduri at my elder brother's house.

Today I'm not at my hometown, Kluang, Johor instead at Shah Alam.

Today I'm still working part time at Hotel Concorde.

Today I feel guilty towards my family

Today I am alone...

Ok ok, no more today. Tired already. hmmm....

Actually, I'm not feel sad about not coming back for hari raya. I feel normal, juzt like nothing happen. Plus, Hari Raya Haji is not a big celebration like Hari Raya Puasa. But still there are family gathering. And I'm still here, its mean that there is something wrong happen somewhere.

First day raya, I'm working. I'm not going to masjid for sembahyang raya because I need to be at the gym hotel at 8.45 a.m. I wish happy hari raya to all the malay guest that came to the gym. some of them ask, "u tak balik ke?" I reply, "hahaha, first time x balik ni". I feel a little bit rindu to my family but just for a while. When i go to the cafateria, there are ketupat palas, nasi himpit, sambal kacang and rendang. hehehehe ada la jugak suasana raya. After work, when I reach home, I call mama and wish selamat hari raya. I ask, "mama x kol amy puun.." ( what a chengeng ) and mama reply "mama busy ni, nak masak. kan esok kenduri rumah baru ajam.."
alamak... mesti diorang perlukan aku time kenduri tu.. ( da mule nak rase menyesal ).

Second day raya. Sue, one of the staff bring the lemang and ayam masak sambal merah. She share with me.. sedap! teringat pulak.. mama masak ape mase kenduri rumah ajam nanti..
After work, I reach home at 7 p.m. I don't know where is this intention come from, but I decide to go to the surau for Isya'. After beri salam mase tahiyyat akhir... imam pun takbir..

hati aku terdetik... ohh apa dah jadi dgn aku ni... dah la x balik raya, pastu x pegi sembahyang raya, pastu dah raya ke-2 baru nak takbir... mohammad hilmi.. mohammad hilmi...

nasib baik aku sempat bertakbir utk hari raya kali ni, kalau tak, betapa ruginya...

balik je rumah terus kol mama n abah, ajam, akak. dengar riuh rendah suasana kat rumah buat aku terkilan la...

abah pesan,
- sembahyang jangan tinggal
- jangan ikut kawan yang pergi gamble ( judi )
- baca surah Al-Mulk
- kalau nak pilih isteri, jangan membelakangkan mak bapak. kalau kita pandai2, nanti naik perahu, tenggelam.

hee.. i will remember this till the day that i die. Thanks Abah.

Hari Raya is the day that everyone waiting for and usually will be celebrated happily. On the morning of first raya, people will dressed in beauty clothes, man will go to mosque for sembahyang raya, and then go to cemetery, and then back to home and eat ketupat, rendang, lemang, sambal kacang and so on...
wahhh best kan...

but we must remember, there are people who didn't have a chance to celebrate hari raya. after a month puasa, of course you want to celebrate your winning against puasa. you defeated your nafsu to eat, and all the nafsu jahat. and the first raya can be said to be an important day to many people. am i right?

i have a friend, who suffer a dengue fever a few days before first raya, and she spent her hari raya all the time on bed in a hospital. on first raya, she did call me and tell her condition. at first, i want to laugh at her and want to say padan muka to her, but i understand her feeling. so poor...

the next day which is second raya, i came visit her. sorry, her name is Farah. she was so happy when i came. that's all i can do and Farah really thanks to me because she was so lonely staying at hospital. only her sister that always visited her. so, i talk to her, i give her ayat2 manis, to make her smile again and make her understand why she has to accepted this as a fate. mesti ada hikmahnye.. it is good to look you smile again farah.

farah is a good girl, when i came, she was doing her asignment. wahh that was really surprise me! well done farah. you are not wasting your time. hahahhaahha.... that is the hikmah. if Farah didn't get the dengue, the assignment will not finish. Thanks to dengue. ~

Farah came out from hospital on fifth raya. that was ok la... she still got time to celebrate hari raya. whatever it is, health is wealth. if you have a lot of money but you only spending your whole life on bed, it is not worth it...

Uncle aye

Who is uncle aye? what is his best ad why I want to tell a story about him?
hmm... he is a rich man, he has a big house and many, he has a big car and many also which is porsche. he likes porsche very much and he has many type of porsche. In other words, he is a very successful man that i know.

This is a story about the open house organized by him. My family and i went to his huse that night. when i arrived, there are so many people and most of them are rich people. I can tell this by just looking at them, the way their dressed, the way their talk, its all rich people style. I really feel small but at the same time, i wish i want to be like them!

Therea re so many delicious food such as, Kambing, satay, ketupat, kuih lapis, laksa, abc, buah-buahan and so on. my stomach will be very happy to have this..

Inside the house, there are VIP guest and they are very famous person in Malaysia!
Guess who? come on... You know them... just pick one.. I give you a hint. the most intelligent person in Malaysia, the famous singer in Malaysia, the famous motivator in Malaysia...
Guys... you know the answer right...
i will tell youthe answer after this...

I feel so lucky to be in a same event with these people. Everybody take a chance to have a picture together with them and me also but I got with one of them only because i don't want to be gedik sangat. hahaha sorry...

i really feel happy and I swear, I want to be rich also. But i hope i'm not hangat2 tahi ayam...

Ketupat Challenge

During ramadhan, my mom was preparing to celebrate hari raya. A lot of work to do and one of them was 'anyam ketupat'. i don't know where is this intention come from but suddenly I'm offering myself to help 'anyam ketupat'. it is a good idea and a good news to my mom, but, actually you know what, i don't know how to do it.~~~

so, i learn from my mom's chef assistants. she is an Indonesian woman, named kak siti. at first, i look at her anyaman. then i follow step by step. slowly... until done! she'd done and I'm also done. every single step was the same, my step and her step. but i don't know why, the result was not same. and of course, kak siti's anyaman become ketupat but mine, become keputat~

after many times i ask kak siti to teach me, i can see on her face, she is fed up with me. hahahaha... even though i am a fast learner, but in case of anyam ketupat, i'm such a loser...
but i'm not given up yet. you know what i do? i took a video of kak siti while she anyam the ketupat, and then go to my room and practice. remember, perfect practice makes perfect!

practice and practice and practice.....
and practice and practice and practice again... suddenly my mom get inside my room and she surprised (or shocked) to see my intention to learn anyam ketupat was so high. then she gave me a lesson. i hope my mom can teach better than kak siti.... after a several minutes..
i did it! she show me the simple way and i almost make a perfect ketupat. just need some practice more! thanks mama! i am your son!

momma said "amy, after this i want you to help me anyam ketupat for my catering".
and i said "aaaarrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhh! don't want, don't want, don't want!"

it is a lot of ketupat!
